The DEVCOM ARL’s Senior Military College (SMC) Faculty Fellowship Research Program is designed for STEM research faculty who wish to be involved in ARL-relevant research during the summer and continued engagement throughout the academic year. Recipients of the Fellowship are afforded the opportunity to conduct research that aligns with the faculty member’s interests and supports the mission of ARL.
Bridging academia and the Army to drive scientific discovery and modernization.
The program’s goal is to provide a fellowship program that ensures a constant flow of new ideas and fresh perspectives, which helps to keep ARL at the forefront of emerging science and technology. This ten-week summer program pairs talented senior military college faculty members with scientists and engineers in a direct relationship, providing the opportunity to conduct research at the Army’s foundational research laboratory.

Each fellow is awarded a $20,000 stipend and $5,000 to procure necessary lab supplies and consumable materials that directly support the execution and continuation of their research project.
