Project Description
The objective of this project is to advance electrochemical technologies for energy conversion and power generation by focusing on the design and engineering of advanced novel materials. Key research areas include electrochemical reactions and catalytic systems critical to technologies such as electrolyzers, fuel cells, and fuel reformers. This initiative is designed to develop and deepen participants’ understanding of fundamental electrochemical science, catalytic processes, and engineering technologies, particularly as they apply to current and future Army energy systems. Participants will engage in lab research with real-world energy applications and gain hands-on experience in the design, synthesis, and characterization of advanced catalysts using modern laboratory techniques, cutting-edge instruments, and data analysis methods. Integrating core concepts from chemistry, materials science, and chemical engineering, the project offers a multidisciplinary research environment. Participants will develop valuable technical and scientific skills applicable to a broad range of power and energy applications.
