Project Description
The successful intern would aid in the synthesis, purification, and characterization of new organic and organometallic chromophores for the development of novel non-linear optical (NLO) materials. The intern would gain experience in analyzing chemical characterization techniques such as nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, mass spectrometry (MS), x-ray crystallography, electrochemistry, and optical characterization including, UV-visible absorption, photoluminescence, transient absorption, and Z-scan spectroscopies.
Background in synthetic chemistry or chemical characterization NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, x-ray crystallography, and electrochemistry), or optical characterization (UV-visible absorption, photoluminescence, transient absorption, and Z-scan) is preferred but not required
